Vets you'll actually remember.

Dr. Amelia Chen, DVM, Lead Veterinarian

Dr. Amelia Chen

DVM, Lead Veterinarian

Amelia founded DNA Vetcare in 2019 after a decade of small-animal practice across Portland and Seattle. Her clinical interest is dental and dermatology, and she shares her home with two cats (Mochi and Pepper) and a slow-blinking goldfish named Steve.

Dr. Marcus Rivera, DVM, Surgical Lead

Dr. Marcus Rivera

DVM, Surgical Lead

Marcus came to DNA from a busy referral surgical practice. He performs the majority of our soft-tissue surgeries and runs our pain-management protocols. Outside the clinic he trail-runs with his rescue, a wiry mutt named Pickle.

Dr. Priya Shah, DVM, Wellness & Preventive Care

Dr. Priya Shah

DVM, Wellness & Preventive Care

Priya leads our wellness program and exotics consults. Her exam-room style is unhurried and unflappable, which is to say she's the vet you want when your cat decides today is the day to be Difficult. Bunnies (her own and yours) hold a special place in her heart.

  • DVM, Cornell 2017
Dr. Ben Okafor, Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Ben Okafor

Associate Veterinarian

Ben joined the team in 2024 after a year of internship at a teaching hospital. He has a soft spot for senior dogs and a knack for explaining complex diagnoses in language pet parents actually use. He bakes sourdough on his days off and brings the failures to the staff room.

  • DVM, Washington State 2023

Compassion first

Every visit is unhurried. Your pet sets the pace. We have a quiet 'fearful pet' room and we use it.

Modern medicine

Digital dental X-ray, in-house lab, multimodal pain management. Practice as it should be in 2026.

Plain-language care

No jargon walls. We explain what's happening, what we recommend, and what it'll cost — before we do it.

“Dr. Rivera explained Pickle's cruciate surgery in plain language and called me the next morning to check in. Genuinely felt like he cared more than I did, which is saying something.”
Sarah K. · Dog (Border Collie)

“Bruno hates the carrier and hates the car and hates strangers. The team here put us in a quiet room, let him decompress for ten minutes, and got the exam done without a hiss. I'll drive across town for that.”
Joaquin M. · Cat (Maine Coon)

“Dr. Shah is the only vet in three counties who actually knows rabbit anatomy. Mango is healthy because of her.”
Anita R. · Rabbit

“We've been here for five years across two dogs. Dr. Chen helped us through a hard end-of-life decision with our old terrier and the kindness was unforgettable. Now we bring our puppy here too.”
Tom & Lily B. · Two Senior Dogs

“The new associate vet (Dr. Okafor I think?) sat with us for forty minutes explaining feather plucking. We left understanding what was happening for the first time.”
Dev P. · Cockatiel

“Dental cleaning was clearly priced upfront, no surprise add-ons. They sent photos of her teeth before and after which felt above-and-beyond.”
Maria L. · Cat (Domestic SH)
